Personal Motto: Helping
pets live happier, longer
lives

I knew from early on that helping animals was an essential part of what i wanted to do with my life. After obtaining my Masters degree in Communication Studies and working as a policy analyst for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for eight years, I was accepted into veterinary school and a new life unfolded.

After working as a small animal veterinarian for nine years in the Denver metropolitan area, working at the Animal Care Centers feels like coming home in terms of working with others to make a positive difference for animals and their families. Early on in my veterinary career, I saw dramatic improvements in pets that received acupuncture and other alternative forms of therapy and over the last 7 years I have pursued and practiced acupuncture as an alternative treatment option for pain and neurological conditions.

I wake up excited each day to use my special interests in acupuncture and pain management, experience with geriatric conditions and nutrition to help patient’s live happier, longer lives. I am passionate about integrating owners into the treatment process so they can help me assist their pet in maintaining optimal health.

In my spare time, helping homeless animals has always been a sizable part of who I am. I volunteer with Pet Aid’s HOPE Program, a no cost wellness care program for the animals of disadvantaged residents in Denver. I was honored to receive the 2012 Pet Aid Animal Hero Volunteer of the Year award for my involvement in this wonderful program.

At my house, you may see seven furry faces peering out our front window. Each of my critters came off the streets or from an alley or was surrendered to a shelter or hospital where I worked. Every day my husband and I are thankful for the joy they bring to our lives. Working at Animal Care Centers is my chance to give back to animals and families that need a helping hand. Nero, Louie, Othis, Norman, Pip, Spider, and Ernie would expect no less form me.
