Dr. Stacy McVicker - Veterinarian

${name}

After obtaining her Master's degree in Communication Studies and working as a policy analyst for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for eight years, Dr. McVicker was accepted into veterinary school and a new life unfolded.

For Dr. Stacy, after working as a small animal veterinarian for nine years in the Denver metropolitan area, working at the Animal Care Center feels like coming home in terms of working with others to make a positive difference for animals and their families.

Early on in her veterinary career, she saw dramatic improvements in pets that received acupuncture and other alternative forms of therapy, and ever since she has pursued and practiced acupuncture as an alternative treatment option for pain and neurological conditions.

In her spare time, helping homeless animals has always been a sizable part of who Dr. Stacy is. She volunteers with Pet Aid's HOPE Program, a no-cost wellness care program for the animals of disadvantaged residents in Denver. She was honored to receive the 2012 Pet Aid Animal Hero Volunteer of the Year award for her involvement in this wonderful program.
